I started a job as a waitress at a hookah bar in Brooklyn and got stuck alone with the Valentine’s Day shift this week. The owner had recently fired the busboy so it was extra crazy for me– so many couples came in!! I think that’s why we only noticed this homemade Valentine under a table at the very end of my shift. The manager was about to toss the card but I asked to keep it. The giver (Murat I think) had clearly taken so much time to make it. I love the two pigeons on the cover, and the message on the back.

A while back, my wife picked up some kids books at a garage sale. The lady that had the garage sale use to run a daycare. We grabbed a couple of Dr. Seuss books. This one was “The Foot Book.” We found this written inside of the cover. I always thought it was kind of cute/funny.

I walked out this morning to get the newspaper and saw this crumpled up note stuck halfway under a flowerpot. It was so windy here yesterday that it must have blown in and got stuck there. At first, I thought it was an old tissue that we had left out there. I picked it up and found that it was a Valentines Day card/note.

I found this on someone’s front lawn today. At first I thought it said, “It’s all you,” and then I read more and realized that it must have been some sort of sign a child made for a free giveaway of unwanted stuff…There is an elementary school across the street. I like the “No Momey” part.
