My roommate Tracey found this remorseful letter on the ground near her school. The saddest part is that it had been sealed with tape and obviously never opened, meaning either that it never reached its recipient, or that she threw it on the ground without reading it.

Sorry About the Perfume

Working in a library, we often find personal items left in books. Today, when one of my coworkers opened a picture book up to repair it, this came fluttering out. We were able to determine that the words that are scratched out were “To cheer you up.” We wondered what made her edit that particular phrase out and of course what happened with the perfume.

Sorry for Bitching

I found this letter folded up and laying in the gutter beside my car. I think it’s heartbreaking. Obviously Ashley is unhappy, but afraid to voice her unhappiness about the situation for fear of losing Brandon. They probably had a fight the night before, then she felt guilty and left him this note for the morning. Hopefully he didn’t read it and toss it out his car window, but that was probably the case. I love the last line, “Don’t get in too much trouble today.” It definitely adds an air of mystery and danger to the whole thing. I love this note and have been carrying it around in my car for about 3 months, hopefully you enjoy it, too.
