Dress-up Kitty

I think this gem was from the 1800s printed on a large glass plate negative that I found.

Big Toe!!

I found this in a old china hutch that was purchased from a thrift store. I have no idea who she is or where she was at but she looks happy!

Freddy?

My dad bought some property in this little town called Iola. There was an old barn and farmhouse on the property and I have found lots of cool antiques in the barn. I was helping to take the old sheet-rock off the walls and this fell next to me in the biggest bedroom.

Halloween Relic

I found these set of photos in an envelope in a little op shop where I used to volunteer. When I opened the packet I felt like I was sneaking glances at someones misplaced memories. Captain Earl

I found this weathered b&w print in my front yard. I noticed that the image was printed in reverse so I held it up to the mirror to reveal that the embroidered name on the shirt read “Capt Earl.”

Our New House

Found in a used book where I work. It looks like a newly married couple showing off their new house.

Drinking and Playing Cards

I found this old Polaroid in a coal miner’s house in the Bull’s Head section of Scranton. I’m not old enough to date the photo, but I’d guess 1950′s. There were other pictures with it, but this is the one I kept.

Paris, September 1940

I was seated at a table in a restaurant and I felt something under my shoe; as I reached down, I could already see the faces of the women in this photo. Upon closer inspection I was most surprised by the gestures of the women. It seems that they are mocking Hitler. The lower left … Continued

Happy Brothers Photos

I found this while clearing out scanners at an NYU student computer lab where I was working as a lab tech. We kept it in the lost & found for a year but it was never claimed. I love the palpable sense of fun and camaraderie. I also love the skirts. On the back is … Continued
