Catalog Cats

Found by Amber Dawn in North Carolina

These are from a little girl’s creative writing notebook. Close enough, right? I think #9 might be my favorite. “It tastes like a whole night of lemons.”

It’s from “The Pudding Like a Night on the Sea”, a story out of the Julian books by Ann Cameron. She must have been reading it for school. 🙂

Shoot! I thought the smaller Find about “Catalog Cats” was going to be about Library Cats fiddling with the library catalog; or about how to catalog an actual cat in a library (it can be done!); or about cataloging all the cat videos on the Internet (probably too many of them for THAT ever to be done).

At the same time, these Finds today are like an erp in a burp after yesterday’s Find from the same source; these Finds are like Pete and Repeat; these Finds are like an echo in a sparsely populated canyon….

@ Sooshi15 … you get the Librarian’s Pat-on-the-Back award for making a bibliographical connection today.

I don’t know if this child was taught D’Nealian handwriting, is left handed, or both. But D’Nealian was my bane when the kids were in elementary. The school district taught D’Nealian and all of the handwriting workbooks sold in our area were Zaner-Bloser. I always thought I should have mentioned it to the stores…

D’Nealin is yuck. They tell you it’s to get ready for cursive, but m D’Nealin is so messy.
