It was trash day and I was picking up some stuff on my street and the sidewalk around my house. I noticed this crumpled up paper had writing on it so I was curious.

I discovered this under the seat of a car I bought recently. It was sandwiched in a patty of sticky pennies, hair, petrified french fries, and bubble gum wrappers. It was about to hit the trash can, but I noticed the line, “Keep your mullet shining and we’ll all rejoice…” and I knew I had something worthwhile on my hands, along with a gummy coating of vintage Dr. Pepper sludge.

I had just recently discovered FOUND and immediately went out and bought the first book on the way to my parents’ house for dinner one night. I was showing my parents the book when my mom told me she had found a poem of sorts that had blown in their yard after a storm that had happened that very afternoon. She had thrown it in the trashcan outside, so I had my dad dig it out, and here it is! My mom now knows to never just throw away something so valuable!
