The Clowning

This is a from series of four Polaroids found in a thrift store, and is perhaps the favorite in my collection. What is going on here? We can only wonder.

Earl

We found this during an archaeological survey. He’s become a bit of an icon for some of my coworkers.

Why to Go to U of A

A co-worker and I found this on the way out of our building one day. We can only assume that this girl is trying to convince her parents why she should go to UA. However, we cannot fathom how and why this school would help “deal with fear problems.”

Summer of 69

Found on floor of building at Arizona State University.

Regrets

Found in the Social Science building at Arizona State University. What was the email content?

Cake in the Yurt

I found this note in a girl’s common room at a boarding school squashed in one of the couches. There wasn’t anyone named Leila attending school there at the time.

Nude Girl Painting $450

Found the list in my apartment’s parking lot. I’m not sure exactly what this is. An inventory of stolen/missing items, I guess? I really like the mix of personal, artwork, and random items included. And that while the sewing machine is underlined twice, the methadone is not.

FREE RANGE CHILDREN

I found this folded up on the ground when I was walking home.

That’s Just Nasty

I found this inside a library book about kids’ science experiments at the Phoenix Public Library.

Roses Are Dead

My husband, who works at a middle school, found this in the computer lab. Apparently it was a rough draft because it was typed up on the computer and adorned with different graphics. Most of them, obviously, were roses.
