Photos of Silly Faces

Found by Rachel in Texas

I love scouring thrift stores for odd and retro/vintage items and I liked this old photo album that was titled, “Photos of Silly Faces.”

Oh the beehive cut! My mother wore a football-helmet shaped “back-comb” all during my childhood. You couldn’t hug her or anything, it was “Don’t touch my hair, don’t touch my hair!” Those were the days when hairspray was meant to hold a woman’s hair in a vicelike grip, and shine like shellac. We used my mother’s hairspray as fixative on drawings. These days it doesn’t work for that anymore.
