I found this rather cryptic to-do list in the alley behind my apartment building; there are always little whirlwinds of interesting debris out there. The back of the list has part of a computer print-out of this person’s bank account, which had $50,860.92 and then shows a withdrawal of $49,753.42 – perhaps because he or she was “sailing off?” I like to imagine it as a to-do-before-leaving-town-for-good list: give away pet lizards, give that relationship a final “infusion” before long distance sets in, that one last workout, then setting sail.
