FOUND by Megan in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada
I found this old poem in a board game at my parents’ cabin. My parents bought the game many years ago at a yard sale and never before noticed the paper under the game’s contents. The game is the Canadian trivia challenge “for all ages,” Tour de Force.
At a thrift store I opened the drawer of what I thought might be a vintage Paul McCobb desk, and found this letter draft folded up in the back. Without reading it I stuffed it into my pocket, hoping that it might prove interesting when I got home. For the most part I was not disappointed in this regard.
I was picking up sticks and other small articles prior to mowing my lawn when I found this nicely folded up piece of paper sitting in the grass, still wet from the morning watering. The paper is a vellum bristol making it substantial enough to stand up to moisture. The characters were produced on a typewriter yet the piece doesn’t appear to be very old.
I found this at the post office. I was standing in line and it was either forgotten or discarded with a stack of envelopes. I hope Anne appreciates the journal Carolyn apparently gave her, poor Carolyn and her messy soul!
