On Halloween my house gets a lot of trick-or-treaters. A LOT. This year we estimate that about 1,200 kids came by our house. When cleaning up after Halloween I found this note on the floor on a crumpled 3×5 card. Perhaps this was dropped by one of the moms?

I found this stuck to a parking meter in the little downtown section of my town. The space was empty so it didn’t seem to be for anyone in particular. I passed it on my way a movie, thought it was awesome, then when it was still there after a movie and ice cream I snagged it. Kudos to the author for reminding me of something all too easy to forget.

It was my grandmother’s funeral and my whole family was having some kind of reception in the basement that I think was also a makeshift Sunday school. My cousin, Jim, grabbed my sister and I and said, “Come on, let’s get out of here.” Right when we were leaving I saw this small yellow square surrounded by other colorful squares with excerpts of politeness. It made me laugh a lot. We spent the rest of the evening making hermit crab castles on the beach down the street from my grandmother’s house.
