I collect found photos. This one was in a bin at a cool thrift store called Qcumbers. I was awed by the passion in this couple’s kiss– it feels both aggressive and touching. We think of our grandparents’ generation was boring and conservative, but they too were young once and had lives with love, passion, drama, pain, etc. I estimate that this photo is at least 50 years old, based on the film format in this contact print on platinum paper.
A few years ago I had just moved into an apartment. One day I came home to find this on my front door – no idea who it’s from or what it means. The creepiest part is that whomever it was had apparently hung around for a while before posting it. That, and the strange way each letter is drawn over and over.
We just got back to Phoenix from a three week vacation to the east coast and found this note in our house left by some friend of the kid next door who was taking care of our dogs and plants. I particularly like the part about not having been up to anything, but, “I’M GETTING MARRIED AND MIGHT BE HAVING A BABY!!!!”
