You Know What

I found this at the post office the day after Valentine’s Day.

Mom Had Her Own Life

Found this casually discarded by itself on top of a bookshelf in the main reading room of the New York Public Library (the Stephen A. Schwarzman building to be specific). Hitting the Books

This printout left behind from a patron at the Bloomingdale Branch of the NY Public Library tells such a fantastic story. Number 8 is the final whammy.

Chinese Ballet

I found this on the sidewalk outside of Bazini’s.

Strong Letter to Follow

This was tucked into a book about interiors on a book at the Gramercy Book Table Street Fair.  Not sure what it is, simple form you send out to get paid or what? Then I looked up if people even sent telegrams anymore … not since Feb 2006 according to Wikipedia.

Fleet Week

Found on the 6 train during Fleet Week.

Happy Brothers Photos

I found this while clearing out scanners at an NYU student computer lab where I was working as a lab tech. We kept it in the lost & found for a year but it was never claimed. I love the palpable sense of fun and camaraderie. I also love the skirts. On the back is … Continued

Family A-sail

Walking down 11th Avenue, I spot this family photo on the sidewalk next to a car dealership. Dad, two lovely daughters and the photographer mom. The picture find was two blocks distant from the Hudson River. They abandoned ship and subsequent boating memories to urban turf.

Hey, a Fish

It seems like after Alex discovered emoticons and sent mementos to his pals he was afraid Mimi would whack him over the head with one of her lunch boxes for not giving her one, too. So he did, with fish, and a rose.
