12 years later, is love still enough?

My friend bought me this journal from a goodwill for my birthday. This beautiful and revealing letter was on the first page, while every other page was left blank. Thought I needed to share.

Unhappy New Year!

The author of this New Year’s Day reflection looks to be a very lonely and dramatic 18-year old. I’ve got a feeling he’d make a really good boyfriend if she’d ever give him a chance. New Year’s get better once you’re old enough to drink.

A Beautiful Butterfly

Found this crumpled up into a tight little ball, on the street in the fairly downtrodden Tenderloin District. Kinda sad that such a heartfelt message of hope got discarded with such intention.

Battery

I was working at a Red Cross shelter set up to aid victims of an apartment fire. These guys lost everything, so we were taking donations of clothing. In one bag of clothes, I found the attached note.

Not Baby-Baby, My Man

Another mysterious paper from one of the university recycling bins during move-out week. For a lot of students, college offers more than just academic growth.

The Weight of Weight

I tore these pages out of a weight loss book that I found at Goodwill one day.

More Justice

Here is the rest of the journal.

In a Sue Book

My mother found this journal entry when she was clearing out our basement.

Chapter 1

Found this on a sidewalk near Martha’s Vineyard a couple years ago. It still makes me laugh. What the heck!
