A couple of years ago, I received this 5 dollar bill as change from, I don’t remember where. On it is written, “Daddy give me this. 11/19/05 He said it would be the last he ever give me. I love Daddy.” Recently while scrounging for loose change with which to pay some bills, I lay this bill atop the pile. My daughter asked if times were so tough that I would use this $5. I guess not. At least not until I know the story.

We run a Monday Night club in Riverside called Morefire. I pretty much handle the money side of things and this is one of the 20s we received that showed up in my portion. I was talking to another of the promoters and he said that he got a similar $20 in his roll… too bad he didn’t keep it; I’m curious what further sentiments it may have expressed. Whoever it is that this message was directed to, I can only say that I hope they decided against cutting, burning, or killing themselves… now that it’s been submitted I suppose I can feel comfortable spending it.
