12 years later, is love still enough?

My friend bought me this journal from a goodwill for my birthday. This beautiful and revealing letter was on the first page, while every other page was left blank. Thought I needed to share.

Unhappy New Year!

The author of this New Year’s Day reflection looks to be a very lonely and dramatic 18-year old. I’ve got a feeling he’d make a really good boyfriend if she’d ever give him a chance. New Year’s get better once you’re old enough to drink.

A Beautiful Butterfly

Found this crumpled up into a tight little ball, on the street in the fairly downtrodden Tenderloin District. Kinda sad that such a heartfelt message of hope got discarded with such intention.

Battery

I was working at a Red Cross shelter set up to aid victims of an apartment fire. These guys lost everything, so we were taking donations of clothing. In one bag of clothes, I found the attached note.

Not Baby-Baby, My Man

Another mysterious paper from one of the university recycling bins during move-out week. For a lot of students, college offers more than just academic growth.

Avoid Fringe

This is a page from the diary of a freshman college student that I found it at a rummage sale.

It Was a Good Day

I found this in the hallways of my high school two years ago.

Justice

This is from a school journal I found lying on the street. What follows is sea sickness, famine, and one hellish night spent on a floating plank of wood in black freezing water. That’s enough to seize the darkest corners of insanity … because she stole a lighter. Stay tuned.

The Mind of Sarah

A friend of mine (janitor) found a diary while taking out the trash. Sarah is just your average boy crazy 5th grader.

I Hate Art

This is from a tiny diary I found in my backyard.
