My mom actually found this piece at least three years ago. I told her about FOUND Magazine around 2005, and this is her first paper solo find. We have found balloons while kayaking, and washers and other metal bits in the street while walking. This list reminds me of my job as a foster care social worker, and how much the world would be different for all of those kiddos if some adults could just practice this list.

Found this letter across the street from an elementary school. I thought it might be a love letter, and it is, sort of, but a little more poignant from a young mother to her absentee (locked up?) partner expressing love for her kids and hope for the future. I think it’s pretty much up your alley.

My dad bought some property in this little town called Iola. There was an old barn and farmhouse on the property and I have found lots of cool antiques in the barn. I was helping to take the old sheetrock off the walls and this fell next to me in the biggest bedroom.
