We found this in a folder in at Edinboro University. The author is from Buffalo, New York, and goes to school at the University of Buffalo. We’re not sure how a folder from one school got to the other. We were going to throw it away, but luckily we looked inside and found this.

Back in the early 90s I worked for the Stevens Point Parks Department, keeping downtown Main Street and the Square clean. I found a lot of weird stuff working there (you wouldn’t believe how many bullets I found), but photos are always something I feel the need to hold on to. I found this picture on the sidewalk. It had been outside for a while and looked like it had been driven over and drug through the streets, which is why there are all those white spots. The woman’s outfit makes me giggle, but I wonder what is up with that kid. He looks like he isn’t having too much fun. He looks like his drugged. Or maybe he’s just weighted down by the enormous size of that life preserver.

Ten years ago I was teaching high school. On a Friday just after school had let out I found this piece of paper in my classroom, and realized that it could well ruin one student’s carefully mapped out plans for the weekend. I ran after him, but he was gone – and I mean gone. I stuck the paper in a notebook, and unearthed it recently while cleaning out my file cabinet. I hope he can still make us of it.
