How I Spent My Vacation

I recently discovered this. It raises so many questions.
This guy works out?
His wife doesn’t know about his addiction? I’m assuming drugs or alcohol, but maybe it’s gambling on the best betting sites he can find, or sex, or some other thing one can withdraw from. Also, noun “withdrawal.” Verb “withdraw.” Maybe he’s not good at spelling.
Sounds like he has a nice wife.
To whom was he writing the note? Why on half of an index card? What was on the other half? Note to self, like a reminder of when his addiction was bad and why to remain sober? And why throw it away at the gym or bring it there at all? Maybe so his wife doesn’t come across it….?
