Leaving a subway station one evening, I was drawn to this find on the staircase. It was at the corner of Broad Street and Ellsworth. The penmanship outshines the spelling, but Doris is happy and that’s all that matters.

I hope English isn’t Doris’ first language. Otherwise calling Jerry “Deart” and asking to see his To is a little…weird. “Gallery Mall–Aftercold” (is that what it says?)

But I’m thinking that sometime on Friday afternoon at the mall, Doris is thinking she will get the engagement ring from Jerry. She wants him to go from “Jerry” to “Jerry + Doris”.
The only hitch in the scheme is that she was promised to Chris for his (or her?) birthday.
