I went to a private school that took place in a church. Study hall was in the sanctuary, and I would always find notes such as these scrawled on the note pads left for the people during service.
I have a plethora of little notes like this one.

One of the most memorable notes that I found similar to this read something along the lines of: “Dear God, please help me. I miss my grandma so much.” Unfortunately, that one got lost somewhere else, but hopefully whoever wrote it got an answer to their prayer.
