Gentleman's Agreement
FOUND by M. Williams in San Francisco, California
Found when taking out my trash and recycling in the Castro neighborhood. It irritates me, since I'm not getting any.

That's written by 2 people! That's a note passed between them in a class or a lecture or at work. How delicious!

I wish this were me. I wish I could have a secret lover that no one knew about. I used to have a secret lover. I miss him...

It's "50" ways to leave your lover... but you're right, that is what it's referring to..

I have a secret lover, but I would never write it down on paper..

I think the person was just clarifying that they (s)he had spelled "coy" since it was kind of a messed up "c". I'm not convinced it says "roy".

Jonathan in that 60s groove
...no need to discuss, much,
step off the quay, Lee,
set yourself free.
(and no,I didn't listen... I didn't listen!!)
PS -- Holden, you're right -- don't put anything in writing. Text messages are pretty bad too (I'm still living in fear of the husband at the door with the shotgun)...

Oh, just googled it and I’ve been getting it wrong all these years! ‘Drop off the key’ not ‘step off the quay’. What a disillusionment.

Just slip out the back, Jack, make a new plan, Stan
Don't need to be coy, Roy, just listen to me
Hop on the bus, Gus, don't need to discuss much
Just drop off the key, Lee, and get yourself free

I think K in VA is right, it’s just a clarification of ‘coy’ and the reminiscence of the song is accidental. Still an’ all.

‘Discuss much’ always puzzled me – why ‘much’ and not another rhyming name e.g. Russ? Keeps it loose and un-hung-up I suppose.

I second the warning against text messaging... Wasn't even actually doing anything but it looked really really bad.

I think they're challenging each other to a game of chess on their lunch hour three times a week, so they'll be ready for the company picnic and chess tournament held every Fourth of July at Golden Gate Park. No one knows they're practicing and improving their skills on the sly, so when one of them wins next summer, everyone will be surprised!

Mona will probably claim this Find is about sex. She thinks "Kissing the Velvet Head" is about sex. Sex, sex, sex, sex, sex. Sex. Sex.

Billy Paul Sang it in in 1972; song written by Kenny Gamble, Leon Huff and Cary Gilbert

"Me and Mrs. Jones
We got a thing going on
We both know that it's wrong
But it's much too strong
To let it go now

We meet every day at the same cafe
Six-thirty and no one knows she'll be there
Holding hands, making all kinds of plans
While the juke box plays our favorite songs

We gotta be extra careful
That we don't build our hopes up too high
'Cause she's got her own obligations
And so do I

Well, it's time for us to be leaving
And it hurts so much, it hurts so much inside
And now she'll go her way and I'll go mine
But tomorrow we'll meet
The same place, the same time

Me and... Mrs. Jones."
