to-do lists, ticket stubs, poetry on napkins, telephone bills, doodles -
anything that gives a glimpse into someone

I hope Chris got the note just in time.
he is not what? i suck at reading other peoples handwriting. and i just love the ending of this one. comments are fun, i just discovered them.
i would say it's: he is not "allowed"
sounds like a sibling warning another sibling or something like that. doesn't look like parental writing or have the authority. yup, younger generation to younger generation.

This one really made me laugh - I love the last sentence.
It reminds me of Lucy Van Pelt's demonstration of her "Five Reasons" to poor little Linus!!

i love how whoever wrote this made the "obey" very bold and extreme. MUST OBEY!

You will BOW to ME!! I read this note and I hear Darth Vader's voice in my head. (same as when I'm in traffic: "you will YIELD TO ME!" Darth says from my passenger seat.)
I picture her eyes filling with demonic, red light, while all light around her fades, and she grows several feet in size, as she utters the word "Obey!"
BTW, I see this as a mother to a friend of her son...but that's just because it reminds me of things my mother could say...
I apparently took this note a LOT differently from everyone else when I read it. I thought it was from a mother to her ex [or soon to be ex] husband about taking their son to his girlfriend's house. Especially the "obey" part if she has custody. Evidently the boy likes daddy's new pick too since he would tell him that he IS allowed to go there.
But, hey, that's just me, lol.
I don't think it would be a mother making a note like that... first of all the handwriting looks like it could only be done by somebody in their teens and also the language seems pretty immature. I have no idea what the intent was for this though, lol. I wonder what the purpose of writing this as a note was.
It sounds to me like the kids are in trouble with other friends. maybe the friend's parents don't like them or the kid is doing things that is not good.
I pretty much think that Chris and Suzie are old lovers that use to do together....
And if they get together; they're heading for trouble....??
oh, I don't know.
can't go there no matter what he says. I wonder ehat he came up with to try and go there.
Chris and Justin are two of Suzie's many boyfriends. The author knows that if they go over there together, they'll find out she's been two timing them and it could ruin their friendship forever.
To "Andrew in VA," I'm curious as to what exactly teenage handwriting looks like, as I am well beyond my teenage years, yet my handwriting is much worse.
