Maxine ... October 25, 2008 |
We collect FOUND stuff: love letters, birthday cards, kids' homework,
to-do lists, ticket stubs, poetry on napkins, telephone bills, doodles -
anything that gives a glimpse into someone
else's life. Anything goes...
Nasty 'copy cats' are the dregs of the earth, and Maxine is the worst. Minx? Minsk?
whatever.
OH! don't get me started on how the liberals tricked australians into 6 years of John Howard. children overboard? following 'w'? David Hicks?
oh, and Maxine is indeed a minx - in the smart, sexy sense.
Shit...even Found is bombarding us with political bullshit. I want my money back.
Lol Flargy... it's not even American politics for once! XD
Switch the labels around and they could be talking about UK politics.
BTW, isn't it also spelled "labour" in Australia? Man from Oz?
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
To what Maxine are you referring?
Maxine??!
OH, the hallmark character.

She IS a minx!

Maxine... (traveling Wilburys)
It was late in the month of November,
She was loading up the wagon in the rain.
Said she'd be back in the morning,
But she never came through here again.
I'd see her in the market,
She never had much to spend,
These days the market's an old pile of mud
And she never came through here again.
Maxine, Maxine, Maxine
Time plays tricks on your memory,
It seems a long weekend,
She said she'd be back here by Monday,
But she never came through here again.
Some say a saucer landed,
And someone took her in,
They found her blue seraph here on the ground
And she never cam through here again.
Maxine, Maxine, Maxine, Maxine.
Maxine, Maxine, Maxine, Maxine.
I bought a tabloid paper,
She was rumored to be in,
Was a photo of a woman on a llama,
But she never came through here again.
And if you should see her,
She may be old by then,
Tell her that I miss her and ask her when
She's ever coming through here again.
Or more entertaining yet...
I'm not an Eminem fan, but I find theses lyrics entertaining when read while thinking politics...
Eminem
I know this crack fiend Maxine who needs a vaccine
She tests positive but tells you that her act's clean
Plus she got a sugar daddy
Asking every hooker that he takes in to crook her badly
If you mistook her sadly, on her reputation
You're in jepordation, if you ain't got no preparation
When you step away son, she got her face done
Looking provocative, she'll let you knock it if
You press the issue and get undressed to kiss you
If you match the price, otherwise she won't look at you twice
But when you catch the lice, or get the urgency
To go to the emergency cause it burns to pee
Don't bring your germs to me, cause I ain't trying to hear it
While your fighting you f**king disease trying to clear it (Maxine!!)
"Jeopardation"?? Cringe.
Maxine seems alright.. Its whoever wrote this that we need to watch out for.. Duuurrr
Oh hahaha.. I thought the addition question equaled 2, but the answer was three.. hahahaha.. I'm the total durrrr.. Ooops.. Karma's a bitch!!! *hands head in shame* Ok, so I didn't see that other 1..
@sick in tired, yeah, me too. I gave up at "jeopardation" because it started sounding like the Revrum Jesss-ah Jack-ahson.
@ Sick in tired and Grumpy
Don't get me wrong. This came from a google search for "maxine lyrics". I've never heard the song. I imagine that I couln't understand the lyrics if I did, but I just found lyrics about crack whores to be an interesting juxtaposition to politics. You know, the selling of ones self etc.
Clearly poor taste on my part, but hey it was early.
@ sick in tired, its called poetic licence.
@ mona lisa yes. and poetic licenses are issued to people who then go out and kill poetry.
LOL@ Kwyncee! I'm wondering if that's an original Kwyncee line, cuz I've never heard it.. (then again I don't get out much.) Hilarious!
Who knew Mona was an Eminem fan?
So ... is minxy Maxine like the rising sun or the setting moon?
Maxine McKew is an Australian politician and the National Parliamentary Secretary for Early Childhood Education and Child Care. In 2007 she stood for election and won the seat of the then Prime Minister, John Howard. Maxine is the first woman, and only the second person, to unseat a sitting Australian prime minister in his own electorate. Some say she's a Minx.
@ Far King: thanks for the information. I did a Yahoo search and saw some photos of Maxine McKew. Why do some people say she's a minx? (No offense- she looks decent)
unseating the Prime Minister was minxish in the sense of woman being bold but some thought it was just a cunning stunt...
"they try to trick people" LMAO, please name one politican or political party which hasnt :P
Thanks, Far King. I was clueless until your post.
Still, I have nothing to add on this, probably because I am sick of politics.
"cunning stunt" ... "cunning stunt" ... does that other word come from mashing these two together?
@orinoco - sorry for the delay. For some reason, labour is the correct spelling for 'work' and labor is the correct spelling for the party. a question for an etymologist, which I am not.
Flargy, it took some digging, but I finally found Foundmagazine's refund policy.
"Foundmaagine.com guarantees your satisfaction with our twice daily Finds of the Day. If for some strange reason you are not happy with any of the Finds, you can go fuck yourself."
"(Foundmagazine.com is not responsible for readers' comments.)"
Wondering in the outback,
"Orgasm" is what comes from mashing those two together.
Mind if I interject my take on American politics?
