We collect FOUND stuff: love letters, birthday cards, kids' homework,
to-do lists, ticket stubs, poetry on napkins, telephone bills, doodles -
anything that gives a glimpse into someone
else's life. Anything goes...
This is my absolute favourite find. It just makes me smile every time I see it. Thankyou.
I agree. This is probably the best one on this entire website. I only wish they had posted the area code as well...
This reminds me of when I was little and had my own "Babysitters' Club." I would go around on my bike and put flyers with my phone number and everything in my neighbors' mailboxes.
Wow, I wish I had the guts to start my own spy agency. :)
This is great! This is the sort of business I started back in the day. I used to ride around the neighborhood on my bike with a walkie-talkie on, trying to pick up on people's cell phone conversations. Sometimes it worked.
That sounds really creepy now but at the time it was just exciting!!!
Aw, that so brings back memories. When I was a kid they sold these "spy" kits and I was forever snooping around my apt complex trying to solve "crime." My favorite books were Encyclopedia Brown, so that's probably why I was so obsessed with a spy agency.
Can you imagine now though? No way I'd let my kid hang flyers with our phone number on it!
Does Brooklyn have more than one area code? I know (718) is Brooklyn, only because I've listened to the Beastie Boys album probably over 500 times:
"Call...Paul's Boutique. Ask for Janice...the number is (718) 498-1043. That's Paul's Boutique, and they're in Brooklyn."
This has got to be one of the best finds ever! I adore it!
Flargy! the Beastie Boys! You crack me up.
I sure do wonder what Kendra Moore is doing, now that she's grown up.
I love that her hours of availability are from 3 to 6. About the time she gets off school until the time she has to go home for dinner.
Excellent find, and Most impressive that you've kept it all this time, Linda. Just awesome.
At the time, Brooklyn only had one area code, 212. Now it's 718 with other cell phone overlays.
The first thing I thought of was Harriet as in Harriet the Spy? such great books...
I, too, thought of the book, "Harriet the Spy." As I recall, she got her commupance for being so nosy!
