We collect FOUND stuff: love letters, birthday cards, kids' homework,
to-do lists, ticket stubs, poetry on napkins, telephone bills, doodles -
anything that gives a glimpse into someone
else's life. Anything goes...
This musta been taken by the kid's cellie, as he's clearly in the slammer. Whaddya in for, kid?
That crib isn't up to code. It's amazing any of us survived those dangerous sleeping places.
For those who look for connections between the two finds of the day, I sure hope there isn't one.
And change those sheets - They look nasty.
how could something this old end up in something as new as a shed at lowe's? only by someone who thought it was important losing it, right? this makes me sad, too.
Thanks for the Find, Natalie, but it sounds a bit fishy to me. I seems like it would take a large number of coincidences for this picture to end up there.
@Clover
I thought the same thing! That baby's gonna get his head stuck between the bars!
@Lucky, or at least break or dislocate the little leg that is between the bars. One slip and his name is gonna be Gimpy.
Is this the baby Teri had to leave behind for her man to raise alone? (Sorry to be such a downer, but that "connection" thing is contagious.)
What a sweet looking baby, though.
@ BABY BASIL- I was thinking the same thing, except I think Teri is the man. Teri's woman might just be raising this child alone...
yikes. Good thing it took years for people to notice the HUGE gaping hole between bars in those cribs..*blinks* Looks like the baby already got its neck stuck, and its head just kind of, swelled up.. lol.. nah,j/k..
Oh dear...cute baby picture..can hardly look at it..all mine have flown the coup...
(sniffle)
So whaddaya think? Boy or girl?
I'm going for girl. No real reason.
"Spam protection: Spell the word 'palindrome' backwards" Well, well.
I think this is Baby in A Blanket when sh/he got older. The eyes are. similar
It's terrifying to think I was raised by people who spent the first year and a half of their life in those conditions. There had to be serious psychological consequences . . .
Help I'm stuck!
The condition of this photo makes the crib sheet look really dirty (urine, drool stains).
I hope it is just the condition of the photo, and not real and this was taken by a social worker who came to check up on checked-out parents.
though this baby reminds me of my sister when she was that age, i think he's a boy.
1967, one of the lucky ones.
Add a "Busy Box" and that could have been me in 1956. Anybody remember those things?
I'm pretty sure crib mattreses in those days were nasty most of the time (before Huggies).
Huggies don't make crib sheets any less nasty. They just fill up the garbage dumps more, making the environment more nasty.
I think it's a girl.
@Way back in the day.. haha! The serious psychological consequences are that they made sure your crib was ultra-safe!
I used to stand up and lean out and undo the latches at the top of the cot sides and let myself out... Hee hee! Escape!! (and I used to undo the wingnuts on my Silver Cross pram so the hood fell off. Tee hee!)
Night: is that your brother?
No, but it looks a lil like him. That sure is a cute baby.
Wish I was up north with ya! Hope you're having fun.
