We collect FOUND stuff: love letters, birthday cards, kids' homework,
to-do lists, ticket stubs, poetry on napkins, telephone bills, doodles -
anything that gives a glimpse into someone
else's life. Anything goes...
I love the colours. it's such a real moment!
He's just got back from a funeral. I bet he has. Look at his clothes and his expression.
it'll be okay. he's just the local weatherman havin a drink before another boring day at work. he will be ok.
Man..the 70's were such a tacky time,Too many drugs in the 60's.
VERY, VERY 70's. I wonder what he's drinking. My money is on scotch and soda.
I like the finder's name...Gulliver Gold. A gold of a find indeed.
this looks like buddy cianci...former mayor of providence, rhode island.
what i take from this picture, put together with the title, is a man just back from sunday church watching his favorite football team lose. cool find
What's hanging in the jock strap behind him? It looks like a midget bodybuilder.
Kelsy, take another look...that's a plaid sport coat he's wearing (and a godawful plaid, at that). I know customs are different down under, but surely one doesn't wear plaid to a funeral!
Unless it was the funeral for his interior decorator...early 70's tacky, right down to the floor lamp. Yeesh.
he look's like he sells used cars for a living.
baby basil: It was the 70's... people wore plaid to EVERYTHING.
Whoa. I'd love to know where this was found...that room looks just like the dining room in the house I lived in from 1984-90. (In Simi Valley, CA.)
I love this pic.....more importanly, who took it? It's a pretty cool moment captured on film.
A guy wearing a suit walks in the door, pours himself a scotch and is relaxing for the night.....but I dont think he's watching TV, the TV is right behind him.
I certainly wouldnt have thought of taking a picture at that moment! But I am glad someone did
There is a marionette and a picture of a panda hugging flowers on the wall behind him.
*laughing at the marionette and panda picture Tom just pointed out*
The caption makes me sad. It makes the man seem really vulnerable.
He should put on that crazy hat behind him (if that is indeed a hat by the window) because that would cheer him up.
I don't see defeat. I see a head and torso.
Is he doing what I think he's doing?
That would be a no, Flargy, because he just got back from synagogue on Saturday morning and is disappointed about the lack of respect for the Jewish community in his small town. I can almost smell the tallis..
I think that story popped to mind because of a photo of my grandfather looking the same way and, according to my mother, thinking the same thing.
It looks like that clown in the background just hanged himself.
Good Lord it's weird.
@Dudley--that, my friend, was one of the few times I've laughed out loud reading this site. Thank you.
Nothing wrong with Western Virginia, either! pPPBT!

scissors is a very hard word to spell right without looking it up!
I see a man, who's politician didn't get elected president, or something along those lines.
But maybe that's just because the media is saturated with presidential election right now...
A plaid jacket at a funeral? Naw had a bad date.
