We collect FOUND stuff: love letters, birthday cards, kids' homework,
to-do lists, ticket stubs, poetry on napkins, telephone bills, doodles -
anything that gives a glimpse into someone
else's life. Anything goes...
It sounds rambling, almost drug-influenced, and strange. But cool. I think I like it.
The "Sand Man" must be closer than he thinks
Discount Records on El Toro Road, I remember it well! RIP is right, that place was iconic and definitely worth remembering! The inventory is probably on EBay now... The writer of the note shows a lot of longing for the recipient; I hope the new truck brought success.
"Cruising" "Sandman" wow - that is the jargon of the 50s and 60s ! This is really a great find.
So wait, what was the 45? Cool that you got a bonus with your LP purchase! And of course GHV2 is one of the finest collections of music around.

I'm not sure why, but that sentence really struck me as poetic and a little tragic.
Maybe I'll buy a truck whenever I'm feeling creative...
I wonder why he thought he was wrong to say he'd take her out. (but hoped that she enjoyed herself anyway- with whomever actually DID end up taking her out, all dressed up fancy.)
Maan, remember just.. cruising in style? Kids can't do that anymore these days. (waste of gas, for sure.. but EVERYONE was cruisin' the drag anyway.)
