We collect FOUND stuff: love letters, birthday cards, kids' homework,
to-do lists, ticket stubs, poetry on napkins, telephone bills, doodles -
anything that gives a glimpse into someone
else's life. Anything goes...
This is one great abstract. Couldn't have said it better. Good thing it will be over soon.
Indoctrinate them young, eh?
It looks like it started as punishment. Write "I hate Bush" 100 times ...
I'll show him! I'm voting for Bush tomorrow! Heehee
'bush is a crackhead'
LOVE IT!!
My grand parents flew to China with the H. W. and his Misses. Gramps said they never even spoke of their son, which in turn, made for a very pleasant trip.
One of the things I like about the Found forum is there is more civility than on other websites, and discussions on lighter subjects. That said, I want to point out to Mr. Ames that not everyone hates the President. Spew your venom elsewhere. FARK.com would be a good place for you.
lol, that's awesome. Way to go kid >.>b
hatred is a quick spreading disease.
Sing, choirs of angels,
Sing in exultation,
Sing, all ye citizens
and the right wing out!
I don't hate the President, I just think he's incompetent, and surrounds himself with others who are the same.
I'll point out to Mr. Geek that Bush does have the lowest approval rating of any US president ever recorded{around 25-27% if I remember correctly).
so it would be accurate to say the majority of people hate(or at least disapprove of) him.
and in some peoples minds; the majority = "everyone".
not that I agree with that reasoning. and I have no interest in a political debate on the subject of Bush. I also agree that this is not the place for that sort of "venom".
SO... basically this comment was just inspired by an attack of Pedantic-Assery.
Geek NOT in my mom's basement - who died and made you a moderator? You ought to be able to cope with some mild differences of opinion to your own personal world view without seeking to censor others.
The whole point of this found note is that it says I Hate Bush on it. How can you expect anyone not to comment on that?
PS I Hate Bush too!
wonder how bush is going to afford his therapy? his self-esteem must of tanked by now. kinda feel sorry for him.
Not to sound holier-than-thou, but:
It really bothers me when people use the word
"hate" to mean "strongly disapprove of." In my mind, James Earl Ray "hated" Martin Luther King Jr., and Osama bin Laden "hates" the United States. On the other hand, I "disapprove of" the current President, and I "am concerned about" Sarah Palin-- I really don't feel that I hate either of them.
I'll let a middle schooler slide, since they use words without fully understanding them, but when I hear an adult say "I hate x politician," it makes me assume you're someone that the secret service should keep their eye on.
I hate Bush! What better time for this FIND to have shown it self!
I wish my kids would write this. I would be so proud.
Wow - we progress from simple censorship to calling the cops in a few easy steps. Awesome.
H in A - ever read 1984? Ever heard of thoughtcrime?
Can't get rid of Bush and his terrifying Homeland Insecurity quick enugh.
How could anyone hate Kate Bush??? She's so lyrical, so melodious, such a wonderful songstress and minstrel.
You guys are all nuts. Kate Bush doesn't hate anybody.
Aaaannnd it's back down the burrow for me until sometime next week. I forgot this was madness week.
C'mon, Geek. Let's go have a brew or two or twelve and leave the hate-mongering for others.
I'll be sitting on top of the hill, looking at the fall foliage.
Maybe this child is referring to a green bush. You know, the kind that grow in the ground and are known as shrubbery, etc. After all, they may have feelings and thoughts, too!
Good one, Librarian. Kate Bush is awesome.
One of the things I like about found.com is its a place to go on the internet and not have to constantly hear about politics. Today - as I think most of us are at the point where we're ready for a break from the back and forth of it all - I'm disappointed to even my favorite getaway website infiltrated.
In the words of Dead Prez, "HELL YA!"
Revolutionary But Gangsta!
Funny thing about kids: if their vocabulary doesn't contain enough nouns and adjectives, calling some one a crack-head seems to suffice.
On another note (the day before elections):My guess is that the current prez is counting the days when it's all over. (George to Laura,"Come on, let's make like a banana..")
I hate bush but
http://foundmagazine.com/comments/186
'expressed so well'?!?!? I'm glad to see that we are holding our school children to such high expectations.
@ not gonna do it: That's comedy gold right there. Did you bookmark that page and wait over two years to use it? It was worth it.
I heart Busch.
America's future is in good hands with this sort of deep political insight.
Now, I'm just trying to remember the definition for bipartisan....
Oh yeah - and I would marry Kate Bush (under the right circumstances).
i love bush
i love bush
i love bush
i love bush
i love bush
i love bush
i love bush
I LOVE BUSH
love muslim bush
love black bush
love middle eastern bush
not so much with the crackhead bush though... too scary
On a related note: I'd like to remind everyone that liquor sales are prohibited in many places on election day. Stock up today!
I agree with Rin Tin Tin. Everyone is so politics-crazy that I just can't wait for the election to be over so we can stop hearing about it. Of course, next comes the whining and angry complaining from the side who's favorite candidate didn't win. It never stops. At least we (usually) have one place to relieve ourselves of the stress of every day life. Hooray Found!!!
Apathy is the real culprit here..so few people have a clue about what is really going on in the country and the world. How much disk space is left on your Ipod is just so much more important. This kid is only voicing his parents ignorance, and notwithstanding the idiotic comments and partisan bias history will define George Bush in a much different and better light.
sorry but this is stupid. bush "hates" black people is just another outrageous comment. Although the economy is going through a recession i wouldn't blame it all on bush. Its been on a downward sprial for years. And if you people knew what you were talking about you would blame congress. Americans are so unimformed these days it makes me sick.
"history will define George Bush in a much different and better light"
Ha ha ha! At least I know I can always come to Found for a good laugh.
I strongly disapprove of Bush
I strongly disapprove of Bush
I strongly disapprove of Bush
I . . .
Nah, I hate Bush!!
I kind of like bush if it is neatly trimmed but I'm not so crazy about our current president.
@ Puckhog and Joh(n) ... your comments remind me of a picture I saw once featuring a very attractive young blonde with a very tight t-shirt on which was the slogan:
"If you like my mountains, you'll love my Busch"
@ Joh(n) - I heart Busch, too.
A story: A man that I dated and I used to quote beer slogans - if we were buying Rolling Rock, one of us would start "From the glass-lined tanks of Old LaTrobe..." or Stroh's: "The only fire-brewed beer in America!"
One night after... some fun, I walked back into the bedroom naked, with a Busch beer in hand. He looked up, said, "Love that Busch!" and of course, I said, "Born of Natural Ingredients!"
OK, I've waited 20 years to tell that story. Yay! I finally found a place.
LMAO @ not gonna do it!
I busted out laughing and well, my boss wanted to know what I was laughing at. She laughed too.
whew!
Thought I was gonna have to find a new job for surfin the net!
Geek said: "One of the things I like about the Found forum is there is more civility than on other websites".
Wasn't always that way, my friend. We should all be very grateful.
8-)
i want to hide in the burrow too, orinoco womble.
Nice job flushing your case down the toilet by making ridiculously exaggerated allegations. I don't like the guy either - not one tiny bit - but this goes too far overboard for anyone to take seriously. I'm aware that it was written by a kid, but I'll critique it however I damn well please. I've seen plenty of adults go off on tangents like this too.
@ Notgonnadoit
LOL classic! I remember that found sadly at the time I was naive and didn't know what it meant went around saying I love Furr Burgers for days LOL
@ Geek
You know it was SO worth it lol
Dearest H in a:
You don't sound like a holier than thou, pedantic asswhole at all. It's kind of like when someone says "fuck you" and fucking is the furthest thing from their mind.
Much love, (and by "love" I really mean "strongly appreciative of my right to express myself with whichever words I feel like using)
A Ghost in the Lost and Found
How old do you have to be before it's ok to have political opinions?
Also, this kid's argument and line of reasoning seems to be on par with those of most adults I know.
On another note, I don’t consider eloquence or written proficiency to be interchangeable with civility; personally, I wouldn't consider Found among the most civil of forums.
A girl in a cube throws a heavy punch with "...personally, I wouldn't consider Found among the most civil of forums."
How will the minions respond?
In other words - let's you and him fight.
I haven't admitted this in public before but I'm an 8th cousin once removed and a 9th cousin once removed of Pres. George Bush.
Yes, we're both a little inbred. And I'm my own cousin, as is he.
Probably explains a lot.
maybe it was written by a kid who is struggling with their sexuality. Sorry for spelling and grammar errors, i am really sik.
Well. Kelly, perhaps you wouldn't blame Bush for everything, but if others want to, they can and for any reason they choose, stupid or not...that's America.
The way I see it, if you can take credit for the sunshine, you can take the blame for the rain, whether you're the President or God or a President who thinks he's God or a President who talks to God or President of the Gods...
I like pepperoni!
Hey!! Puckhott's here! Nice to see you, ever so briefly. (I suppose you've been out in the "real" world having a "life" or something?)
you're sick of listening about the election? try living across the pond and having to listen about it.
"H in a

you are scary.
Perhaps this kids is just into boys not girls, if so than that's why he hates bush. I myself love bush....if its full of berries. Mmmmmmm berries...
opps should have left the 's' off kid above.
Being a little smarter than the average bear I'll refrain from any commentary about politics, religion or money and keep all my friends as a result..:)
What!?
Bush is ok - but not too much bush.
A brazilian is better.
Bald is ... interesting.
I happen to really like George W. Bush. Looks like I'm in the minority around here. *shrug*
I LOVE BUSH!
I think that Bush would be a fun guy to hang with, have a beer, have a bbq, etc. But, he sucks as president. There are jobs I know I would suck at (including president), so best to avoid them.
I can't say I hate him. He never did anything to me personally.
Bush? Which one are we talking about?
Yeah, that's it. Bush hates everyone that isn't white. Oh yeah! And he's a crackhead! And THIS is why I'm voting for McCain. Because of all the MORONS that say stupid idiotic shit like this.
You're choosing the president who will make all the decisions that affect the future of the entire country on the basis of a schoolkid's exaggeration? Who's the moron?
You're choosing the president who will make all the decisions that affect the future of the entire country on the basis of a schoolkid's exaggeration? Who's the moron?
Wow! That sure got a lot of comments.
@ monkey
Bush also had one of the highest approval ratings recorded in the months following 9-11-01. What a fickle country we live in (well, some of us).
@orinoco womble: I came to keep you company. I brought cookies, magazines and booze. Love what you've done with the place.
I don't hate him. I don't think he hates Ms. Rice, a black woman. I think this child is repeating the crap constantly spewed out of the television and radio.
@Mom Interrupted: Why, thank you! Chocolate chip cookies! *swoon* Yes, you can dunk them in your beer. Oh, sorry, that's pale ale.
Yes, we papered the parlour with Sunday Times colour supplements that Tobermory found on the Common. Really gives the place a lift.
Aren't you glad that Wombles don't have TV?
Well, Barack is taking over his job now so no more worries ;)
I don't think Bush hates people based on race--I think he just hates people who aren't rich like him and his little buddies, and are thus of no political use to him. Though, pathetically, that does mean he hates a lot of people of color. Isn't it sad how this world works?
...I dislike Bush. But Bush is everything BUT racist. And... remember that Bush is the guy who will tell us what his little committee decided. He's not the only one making decisions. If you're to hate Bush, simply be aware that there are a bunch of people behind him who take these decisions. It's not like if everything was HIS own ideas, and that he was the only one who had a word to say in decision making.
George W. god damn shrub
I love bush, as long as it's trimmed.
