We collect FOUND stuff: love letters, birthday cards, kids' homework,
to-do lists, ticket stubs, poetry on napkins, telephone bills, doodles -
anything that gives a glimpse into someone
else's life. Anything goes...
Maybe this was a prank pulled on Robert. This reminds me of some shit my friends would pull on me.
Well, if it is legit, one has to admire his chutzpah!
those aussies are soo full of themselves!
Talk about advertising one's desparation...
Dave - sheesh, Id hate to hear what you think of Americans then!
Jeez... you people need to get out of your comfort zones a bit! This find is gold, Jerry! Gold!
Can you mail order Girlfriend/Housemates?
Looks like Rick forgot one thing.....to put the per hour amount he's planning to pay.

Shades of the Stepford Wives!! "I'll have a Girlfriend/Housemate, please, with a side order of Maid of All Work...."
what's going on in the picture? it's robert...in front of a big hexagon?? strange.
A vest and mom jeans, what woman could say no?
looks like the dharma initiative is recruiting again...
OK, Robert. Hook your thumbs in your gingerbread-man jeans, put your good leg forward, and hide your waistline and butt with a long vest. Good. Now use a low camera angle to make yourself look taller than you are. Describe yourself as an "artist" instead of saying, "You'll need to pay the rent for both of us, because I don't have a job." Oh, and pose in front of a couple of examples of your art.
He's got sort of a David Cassidy thing going on, doesn't he?
The face on the mask behind him looks just like him. That's a little odd.
At least he's an equal opportunity loser.
I think he really is an artist b/c of the beautiful and carefully done lettering.
But he seems to be VERY much out of the past! Literally. He should have been this age in the 60s, where more people had lover/housemates.
Actually this Robert, the visual art teacher of Melbourne university. He been to the same college he is teaching at and while looking trought old university picture for a project, some students found this old odd looking picture of Mister Thompson. Robert is his name. He is particulary loved along student and they decided to play a little prank on him by hanging arround a fake poster where he is looking for a housemate GF. They had tons of fun making this joke, and the monday morning, they had to face a midly angry M.Thompson, but it totally have worth it... right?
This is directly from the 60's ... i swear... this cant be recent... I mean ... come on >.>
It GOT to be a PRANK, because if not, i want to meet this person... i wish i had hafl his guts lol
The font is very 1960s. Interesting. It was made and displayed recently ?
this guy isn't robert, he's paul mccartney, i swear.
Alice--that's just awesome..
this is oddly creeping me out. anyone else?
Hey, Robert has rifled my wardrobe!
Hmmm...
I need a housemate and desire a boyfriend, so maybe I should try something similar:-P I bet the respondents would be real keepers!
What careful lettering.. I bet he's a neat housemate. I'd love to find if he ever found anyone, and if it came out of the ad!! I hope it wasn't a joke!
Oof! I saw the picture and was really hoping that this poster had been printed back in the 1970's. Poor Robert. (Unless he is a historical re-enactor, based at Australia's famous Living History Museum of the Seventies.)
