Found this in a Kinko's in Manhattan not too long ago. I think it's one of the most hilarious things ever.

this made me bust out laughing out loud! I lost the front tooth of my upper plate yesterday and I think front teeth are MOST important in the dental way of things! Getting that buggar fixed today!

My sister sent this to me after I had a tooth extracted in preparation for an implant. When my insurance company wouldn't pay for any of the surgery, I sent them this photo. They still didn't pay but I felt better.

HAHA!!! I wish I would have seen this last year--I could have given it to my (ex)boyfriend who seemed to think his missing front tooth was not a problem. Really, I think front teeth are, um, pretty necessary. If I was missing one, I would probably go to great lengths to make sure someone put the damn thing back in my mouth lol

huh? seriously- if you get your front tooth knocked out in the usa you have to PAY to get it fixed? even though its like the richest country in the world? what kind of mad country is that? healthcare should be free... honestly i am really shocked, that's a disgrace. come to england mate we'll fix it for you for free even if you have no insurance at all :-)

But thats the joy of a truly capitalist nation. We only have to pay for medical/dental care for those who refuse to work. The "working poor" are often left in these scenarios. When we didn't have insurance there were quite a few times I remember treating abcsesed teeth w/ clove oil and black market antibiotics. Just b/c I didn't have the $180 a dentist wanted just to LOOK at the tooth.

And yes, when I was traveling in England, even as someone who is NOT a citizen, I was seen by a Dr, at no charge, and given antibiotics for strep throat. So Kudos to England!

This would be funny to me if it didn't make me so angry for the author, for myself, for the rest of the citizens of this country gone wrong.

I agree w/Dave and the writer. This is not funny in the least! Our med and dental HMO's are taking our money before we even see it (deducted from check) and coverage for something as important as a front tooth, which defines a persons self-image, is Not a luxury! How is someone supposed to get/keep a job when their appearance is ruined?

This country sucks and this is another brick in the wall, if you will, to show us that we are all f*cked living in this 'land of the FEES'. We no longer are free, thanks to Dubya changing the US Constitution, and the American public letting him do it. And he was able to do it beause this country is full if Stupid f-ing People, who went to public school and can't find Canada on a map to save their lives!

and how was your day?

ok so i just found this website the other day and ive been really sad the last couple of weeks because of my boyfriends death...so i get on and i see this one and i almost peed myself. my boyfriend had a fake front tooth and when i met him i didnt now until he flipped it out on me one day...which i must say i screamed. he told me he got it knocked out in the 70's in the navy on the nimitz ship and he freaked and the navy thank god immediately replaced it. well i never really liked seeing him with out at night and we use to joke about this very thing. well over time i did get use to him taking it ou before bed as he would pull his underwear up to his armpits and smile that goofy toothless grin. seeing this made me think of him and it put a smile on a girl who has been sad for a long time.

Kimmy, sometimes when the world feels very very dark, the universe will send you something to remind you that you were once happy, and that gives you hope that, some day, you will be happy again.

i laughed to hard. i had to pay 1000 smackers to a dentist because i got my front tooth knocked out. i had to wait several months before i could get it fixed because i had to save the money to pay up front and i felt like a hillbilly til i got it done. nothing like it for a girl who loves to laugh. anyway this made my day. as a side note to KC in pasadena, if you hate it so bad here, move to iraq. the politics isn't perfect here, but it beats a lot of places you ingrate!
