The Clowning
FOUND by Eric Baldoni in Tucson, Arizona
This is a from series of four Polaroids found in a thrift store, and is perhaps the favorite in my collection. What is going on here? We can only wonder.
Monkey in denial
three words;
Clowns Are Creepy.

i don't know.. i've got some friends at a clown-school, and they're growing quite good- maybe it's just the clown's apparent interest in some 'spiel' that irritates people (and the rather funkay clothes.. )

mimes now - that's a rather different thing... i loathe mimes, what whith their striped shirts and kid-gloves and tights, following you around imitating your walk and making faces when you tell them to get the fuck off you back...

i hate mimes

but clowns.. they're allright in my book (most of the time)

orinoco womble in wimbledon burrow
Instantly reminded me of a photo of a cat-and-cleaver on a red ground that was a previous Found of about a yr or so ago. Another excellent cover for a murder mystery: "The Circus Murders" or "Die Laughing" or "Clowned to Death."

This is the Find I meant:

"Death Under the Big Top" is way better than my first title idea.

I've always liked clowns, and I've known several throughout the years. All wonderful characters with or without the makeup.

I strongly dislike ICP. I wouldn't want to meet Pennywise in a dark alley. (ditto john wayne gacy) but clowns are cool.

(And Killer Klowns from Outer Space is one of the funniest movies of all time.)

I feel like I'm looking at a piece of police evidence. Perhaps the perp made his victims dress up like clowns before he did them in?

Frightening.

Quite a young person...and looks like a young woman...but is her hair on fire? What's going on with that wig? Gives "fright wig" a whole new meaning.

No one I know seems to have ever seen the Disney Channel's "Weekenders"--there is a hysterical episode where Tino deals with his fear of clowns by going to a weekend seminar. And they actually mention the Killer Klowns movie.

Laura, the girl in glasses
Aaaaahhhhhhhhhh! For the love of crap! This is creepier than Bunnee.

I think it's the forced jocularity that makes people mistrust and fear clowns. How many times have we heard the serial killer was a really nice guy. You kind of wonder what that heavy makeup conceals.

The only clown I liked was Grandma the Clown from the Big Apple Circus.

@Laura-You think Bunnee is creepy?? Bunnee rules! I'm looking at a printout of Bunnee on my cubicle wall right now because I love Bunnee. Bunnee is QUIRKY, not creepy. :)

Hey all, I sent in this pict...I put up the other three in the "series" if you want to be really scared. A very strange series of picts when viewed all together for sure.

Yeah, I think the next photo in the series ought to be the profile.

And they shouldn't cut off the card with the numbers at the bottom.

We recently took my son to the Ringling Bros circus, and the clowns there were very un-clown-like, if that makes sense. (Not a lot of makeup, etc) My husband thinks clowns are creepy, too, and they didn't bother him....
+ September 17, 2008 01:48 PM +
wondering if that big guy's lurking in a corner, waiting for me...
Eric in PDX, thanks for sharing the other pics in your Found collection (although I can definitely see why Found only posted this one of the four.)

Now see everyone? the dude in the first 3 pics doesn't appear to have a single speck of clown makeup on his face.. but he's INFINITELY creepier to me than this cute little Clowning chick.

Looks like this clown is in a fish bowl. Could it be a clownfish?

Or maybe I am in the fish bowl, looking at the clown.

"Hey clown, how about tossing in some fish flakes?"

Clowns suck.

This picture is fucking scary. Don't care that he/she is smiling.

Thanks Eric, for sharing the details and the link with the other pics with us!!
I love it when the *FINDER* of the *FOUND* of the day, comes and posts a comment and tells all of us *FOUND-HOUNDS* who/what/where/why/ and how they came about finding this or their treasure!!!
Much appreciated!!
I've always wondered about the *other* photos that also are *FOUND* but only mentioned and not shown or told of the subject?
But, you, being the gentleman you are, have killed my curiousity!! (With these pics, anyway!)
Great *FIND*!

Haha! I found a photo album a few days ago with some of my oldest sister's pictures and she once dressed as a clown exactly like that!
Creepy as hell but still very interesting XD She must not know I found that Photo Album or she'll burn it.
