We collect FOUND stuff: love letters, birthday cards, kids' homework,
to-do lists, ticket stubs, poetry on napkins, telephone bills, doodles -
anything that gives a glimpse into someone
else's life. Anything goes...
Creepy.
Who says there's no photographic proof of the paranormal?
it has a shadow, so it's not a ghost
Looks like Iowa's Gypsum Man, a 19th century hoax statue they tried to palm off as a petrified human. Can't remember what they called it but it was made of gypsum ie plaster of Paris.
28 times 15 is what? A pain in the ass!
The Gypsum Man cometh! How does that legend go? He emerges on the first day of summer and gives plaster ice cream cones to all the good girls and boys..
(28 times 15? at least you got arithmetic.
Try "which month follows Shevat")
Oh, look! Nightmare fuel!
Do not want!
i want my MUMMY
This picture is what you would get if you crossed the ending of The Music Man and the story of Lot's Wife from the Bible...
The bending shoulder really done it in for me. *hides in grannie panties*
dammit mummy! I've been looking for you everywhere! what are you doing taking pictures on bridges? The British Museum are seriously pissed you've been gone so long, you'd better get back in your sarcophagus now!
cuz this is thriller! Thriller night.. and I can scare you more than any ghoul would ever dare try..
I wanna know what the heck that is. I dont think its a ghost or a mummy.
Maybe it's a statue? It would make sense b/c its all white and has a shadow...
Or maybe it's only a photo of an alive human being gone wrong... purposely or otherwise... but you all knew that... hope I didn't ruin your fun :)
Milwaukee! Home to Plank Road where my life source begins.
This may not be trick photography so much as it's trick developing. When I was in HS we would sometimes leave little tiny objects on the photo paper before exposing it to the picture to come up with some fun images.
And here I was all this time, thinking Huey Lewis was the whitest dude on Earth.
No, Flargy--the whitest dude on earth is currently Michael Jackson.
The only black man in the world who looks like a white woman. Specifically, a Barbie doll.
OK, I'm back. It's "The Cardiff Giant". The gypsum block was "mined" or whatever you call it, in Ft Dodge Iowa and the dirty work at the crossroads was done in NY state. Of course. They tried to palm it off as a petrified man.
Ghosts MIGHT have shadows.
Ghosts certainly have shadows, but they don't MAKE shadows.
i like the arc and symmetry of the bridge.
Cool. Creepy. Bitchin.
Good cover for the next Stephen King book.
@ Jess in Lewes...LOL!! Made me choke on my toast.
Ghosts can't have a shadow cuz they are ghosts. And they leave some weird slime (at least they did in Ghost Busters), which I do not see in this photo.
Therefore, if must be a mummy.
This reminds me of The Springfield Files episode of The Simpsons -- when Homer drinks a bunch of Red Tick Beer and thinks Mr. Burns is an alien.
Inga: Werewolf!
Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: Werewolf?
Igor: There.
Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: What?
Igor: There, wolf. There, castle.
Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: Why are you talking that way.
Igor: I thought you wanted to.
Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: No, I don't want to.
Igor: Suit yourself. I'm easy.
There wolf and there mummy and there goes the neighborhood.
Mummy on the bridge
Wrapped up with snow-white rags
Isn't he so creepy?
Michael Jackson's ghost
Haunting a pretty bridge now
Thriller is made real.
Homer Simpson says:
Burns is an alien,Doh!
Homer pees his pants.
I'm going to pretend that there was a person standing on the bridge and the developer of the negative cut them out before expossing it so they could add it to the secret collage they've been making out of pictures and artifacts the person in the photo had touched. "this will go so nicely next the chewing gum she chewed last week, my stalker poster is nearly complete!" Yea, I'm going with that explaination, that way I won't be as creeped out. Stalkers I can handle, paranormal whatever-you-wish-to-call-its, not so much!
I think this find is great! I wonder what it really is. Could be a darkroom trick, a statue, a ghost, a gypsum man, a mummy, or the photographer's albino boyfriend, overexposed.
It's a slow day at Found today. Maybe everyone is out finding things.
I don't think this was done in the darkroom, given the very dark, well-defined shadow perfectly placed behind the figure on the bridge. I think it might be a piece of art or a cut-out with someone standing behind it, holding it up.
Look yall he has black dancing shoes on
Ok... i know a lot about ghosts... they can have shadows... but not likely, there are many things it could be.
creepy. awesomely so.
OH SHIT i did the 'in in' thing! i HATE it when that happens!!!
