Grandpa Love

I found this in a book called "Why Do Men Have Nipples?" today at Borders after becoming intrigued by the title. It fell out on a page that was answering the author's posed question of "Can drinking coffee really stunt your growth?" Maybe Grandpa wanted Isaac to stop drinking coffee. In any case, Isaac should've tried harder in keeping this note after returning the book.

We collect FOUND stuff: love letters, birthday cards, kids' homework,
to-do lists, ticket stubs, poetry on napkins, telephone bills, doodles -
anything that gives a glimpse into someone
else's life. Anything goes...
Hmmm....for once I'm the first to post a response, and I have nothing to say.
The note is vaguely endearing, I suppose, but the book title sounds more interesting than the find. Wondering what the other chapters were titled...

So, young Issac found out why, and learned how to ignite farts, and then asked mom to exchange this for some Naruto Anime book.
Poor Grandpa! I feel bad that his gift was returned. I hope one day Isaac realizes how important grandparents are and regrets his treatment of this gift.
This makes me miss my grandpa.
It makes me miss my grandpa, too, Tink. A lot. I hope Isaac's granddad is as cool an old guy as mine was, and that he loves him like I loved mine. I fear that may not be the case, but I hope so.

Even cool grandparents can give gifts you have no interest in. I'm sure Issac knows his grandpa loves him.
this could be the envelope for a gift card that issac lost while browsing. not as bad as losing while returning a specifically chosen book right?
I'm with CJ - I think the envelope's contents (gift card) were long gone, and the envelope was used as a bookmark, whether Isaac had the book at home or just browsed it while waiting for Mom to pick out a book on tofu.
Both my grandpas were severe alcoholics and couldn't have cared less about anyone but themselves. It was a blessing to both grandmas when they died. I wish I could relate to the whole "loving grandpa" thing.

I also agree with CJ and lost..that definitely appears to be a gift card envelope, which means Issac was doing his own selection of his present. I've flipped through the book and it's really interesting..
This note reminds me of my grandparents, all of which whom I wish were still alive, I still have notes like these from them.
I wish i had grandparents.
Or parents.
It would be nice.
This is a good book! So is, "Did Adam and Eve Have Belly Buttons?" They answer life's odd questions.

Both my grandpas were long gone so I never knew them (though I did meet a 92-year-old Great-Grandpa when I was 12).
I don't think anyone in my family ever said 'I love you' to any one else in the family unless they were married to them, and then only when no one else could possibly overhear.
I love how warm and loving people are now (when they're sincere!) and I wish life had been like that when I was growing up.
No doubt they did love us but they would never say so.
Grandpas are good people.

I miss my Grandpa too... and would give about anything to hear him say "l love you" one more time.

my grandparents get me a borders gift certificate every year for hannukah and my birthday. Apparently, Isaac's grandparents are fond of borders gift certificates as well
