Cake in the Yurt
FOUND by Matthew Matuzic in Sedona, Arizona
I found this note in a girl's common room at a boarding school squashed in one of the couches. There wasn't anyone named Leila attending school there at the time.
Makin tea in her underwear
that's nice that she left cake...that's a true friend there. Although she did blow her off to go watch ER....

and what the hell is a yurt please?

a yurt is kind of a cross between a tent & a cabin.

It looks as though it reads, " I left you some cabel."

Weird!

I'd imagine there are not many yurts around with electricity.

what sort of boarding school (outside of mongolia) has a yurt and who would disrupt the feng shui of a yurt with a squawking square?

The Devil is in the detail
Leila went to the Turf-Bar, just around the corener. They have a wide screen. The cake there is not so hot (only chocolate).

I love that: "squawking square"! I'm going to use it from now on.

@cookie ... yurts in Mongolia may or may not have electricity, but the fancy-dancy resorts hereabouts (N. America) that have them really dress them up with electricity, hot tubs, electronic gear, a/c, anything you oculd want. Quite like camping without having to bother with the forest, insects, temperature, or any of those nasty outdoor things.

Just for example:

@Librarian, www.tinyurl.com is veddy, veddy handy. :o)

Sedona, with all its mysticism, probably uses Positive Energies to power the TVs in the yurts (which is a great Scrabble word.)

But, the really mystifying thing is just how big are the couches out there that they can squash whole boarding schools into them?

Freonz, you'd be amazed at some of the things you can find squashed in couches, stuffed between seat cushions, etc.:

Man Behind the Curtain...SQUAWKING SQUARE!!! Best thing I've heard all day.

alan goes "pting" in Joe Strummer's yurt
I also thought it said cabel - which I took for a misspelling of cabal - thus prompting me to suspect Leila and Haley are part of a secret organization trying to destroy western civilization.

Is the present tense of 'leff' - 'leaf?'

Flargy, you're right! That's just amazing. You'd think they'd take more care in cleaning those booths. LOL

I read it as cabel too. I thought what she meant was that even though she was going to watch E.R. in the yurt, she would leave enough cabel behind in the dorm so that Haleq could watch something too.

What I want to know is what Matthew was doing down the back of a couch in a girl's boarding school... ???

mona lisa stuck in the couch cushions with Matthew... hey, that's my quarter
Maybe Matthew is the housekeeping staff (apparently the only one who cleans the cushions)

I went to 2 boarding schools(don't ask) in that general area and only one had a yurt.

Verde Valley School.

Although when I was there, there was no TV in the Yurt!

Yurts are cool. Why ruin it with a tv?

Like anything, a yurt might be cool or not. I once had a cat who fought with pens and then tucked them between couch cushions when he finished them off. When he caught mice, we were a bit nervous about where they might end up, but he presented them professionally, on the floor of the yurt. I mean kitchen, which is really just a yurt with a fridge and a microwave.

Hampshire College has a yurt. I think they use it as a radio station, so apparently some school yurts have electricity.

I can't make out the Y word, but your guys guesses of yurt seems to have panned out well.

I immediately read it as cabel, and assumed they shared a TV and if Leila went to watch ER at the Yurt, that left Haley to choose her own channel to watch. Nice roommate.

The vortexes here will put the TV on the fritz. So, no TV watching in yurts, even with the manifestation of positive energies. :D

does anyone even WATCH ER anymore? Is it still on? I gave up when John Leguizamo came on. (*"shutter"*)
