The RSA Doesn't Care about You
FOUND by Smith in Tacoma, WA
I found this at the University of Puget Sound Public Library. At first I thought it was a love note.

I Care about You! BUT -I have my doubts--BUT I care about you! BUT I have my doubts-BUT I care about you!

But I have my doubts

But then what, Smith? You can't say "At first..." without a "But then..." Shame on you. You're butfile.

My parents went to UPS. True story.

I love the cognitive dissonance with the "I care about you" and the axe. Yeah, I know it's because they're the loggers, but... hah!

This was Lizzie Borden's personal stationery.

And you know the saying ... "Speak softly, but carry a big axe."

That ax is a real mood killer. I would have my doubts, too.

@Librarian: From the Desk of Lizzie Borden- ha.
I was wondering if Paul Bunyan went West. He must have been a lonely guy, being all huge wihtout a huge lady friend.

@ Geek ... OK, suddenly now I'm not concerned whether it's Paul Bunyan's or Lizzie Borden's stationery. Your comment made me look at where this Find was found: "University of Puget Sound Public Library"

What?

A university with a "public library"? Or was it found by a student who didn't know that universities have their own libraries? Or that the public can usually use the university library? Or that... or that...

This is going to bother me all day.

Usually the phrase "I care about you" goes walking down the conversational path hand in hand with "I'm doing this for your own good" and "This hurts me more than it hurts you."

I always find those to be empty sentiments, and begin doubting people the minute these phrases comes out of their mouths.

Cotton, I care about you.
And I value your opinion.

The word "yuujin" means "best friend" in Japanese, so many Japanese immigrants name their sons "Eugene."

Eugene had just found out that his ax wouldn't be sharpened in time for the tree cutting marathon that afternoon. He was very upset and crying his eyes out. His girlfriend Jessica wasn't doing a very good job cofrunting him. All she did was write "I care about you" on the log cutting stationery! Seeing the stationery, Eugene burst into tears again and wrote "I have my doubts."

Moonshine, Eugene is an even funnier name when you put the emphasis on the first syllable.

I went to UPS and I can definitely attest to the fact that we did NOT have a public library, or public anything for that matter.

I too went to UPS, and I never had any illusions about the RSA.

@Geek: supposedly he made it that far - the student union building had a huge mural of Paul with his pal Babe the blue ox.

Sounds like a note an RA would leave to one of their residents, especially since the note is from the Resident Student Association.

As an RA, I can honestly say that "I do care".
