I haven’t had a vacation since 1996. A lot of people don’t, ever. Trying to provide for 2 people on a pension is tough, too. And we all have to pay our creditors eventually, one way or the other. Pay your bills or pay dues.

“I deserve to be discharged” [rather than arrested? or flat out fired? or ...] Or did she mean “I DON’T deserve to be discharged”?

But then “I need a fresh start” seems to suggest that, yeah, I DO want to be let go from work one way or the other.

Most of us don’t make a ton of money. You’ll make less if you ARE discharged.

I feel most sorry for the kid. HE didn’t make the mess, but has to live with the results.

Oh. I just thought. “Discharged” as in “from mental health facility.” She probably went into meltdown and her kid is in care.
