FOUND by Kyle Cott in Doran Beach, California

Pretty neat. I was here with an autistic client of mine who loves to clean up the beaches and hiking trails of northern California. He picked this up with his “trash grabber” when I told him to wait. Then we read it together– he was pretty uninterested until I explained the FOUND website and how this particular piece of trash was considerd “a find.” So, now he’s into it too, as I have been for a long, long time! It is written on a Safway brown paper bag.

I wonder if this is a person counting her blessings of things she already has, or it’s a list of what she wants to achieve. The “invocation” makes me think it might be a list of wants. Health and wealth first, then a man. Ironic that she starts invoking the Trinity and then stipulates that she wants a “Cancer man”. Most devout Christians of my acquaintance don’t really do the whole horoscope thing. At first reading I thought maybe her husband had cancer, but then “born June 6″ made it clear that she meant the star sign.
I understand some of her qualifications for the perfect man–no smoking, drinking or other liasons–but insisting that his BD be June 6 is cutting it pretty fine.

I’m not so sure about the prioritizing: 1) health 2) wealth 3) perfect husband 4) hair 5) friends. What about cats? What about palatial estate? What about gourmet food? Or, I guess with untold wealth you could buy all the rest. Never mind.

    And “Hilda Jr.”?

Maybe she’s in one of those “prosperity” type churches that encourages this sort of “gimme” attitude toward God.
