My advice is to move to a small town in Texas where the high school is so small that there are only 10 students per grade. That’ll guarantee you being in the top 10 of your class; the houses will all be tiny, so you’ll have that; Dad will have to let you “take care of” him because there won’t be anyone else there (unless Cloris Leachman still lives in town, that is). Only problem is that the sole job open there these days is street sweeper, and the last incumbent didn’t even have a resume so maybe it’s not that type of job. That, and there’s no movie theater in town any more.
On the other hand, if Dad is 55, how old are you?

This note is kind of sad…obviously the writer has no one to talk to, to share worries etc. It’s almost like a prayer, without a target. “Someone please answer my dad’s resume.”
These days as people become first-time parents in their late 30s (and often later than that for men), a 55 yr old dad could have a child of any age. A friend of mine is having her first baby at 37; her husband is 62. Welcome to modern life.

It IS sad. And this kid feels so lonely, worried and really insightful regarding their own behavior. These are the kinds of people I DO wish would win a lottery….

Awww. That was sad. Sounds like the writer is from a single parent home. Hope everything works out.
