I found this picture in a diary at a rummage sale. Apparently the pretty little girl in this photo grew up to be a pretty young lady. However, at the time she was writing this diary she was in college and planning on achieving her dream of becoming a fashion designer. Let’s all hope she makes it.
Merry Christmas, 1922

A friend gave me her grandmother’s antique bureau, and told me to look for old notes, as the grandmother had the habit of writing down the history of her furniture, and placing it somewhere on them. I didn’t find any notes, but I did find this old photo of a gentleman and his dog. The back reads (in Danish): “Wishing you a merry and blessed Christmas. 1922. Søren”

This was inside an old recipe box. Instead of recipes it was a record of a woman’s daily affairs from the 1930s and early 1940s. It was mostly addresses but also included some of her expenses, rules for card games, a few diagrams of electric circuits and a long list of books she wanted to read. 90% of it was names with addresses and shorthand notes that we didn’t understand. We do know that she kept up with her mail.
