I checked a book out of the L.A. Public Library and someone who had previously checked it out left a receipt for some other books inside it. Sounds like they got distracted while doing research. Written on back: “Nah, let’s ride bikes!”
This note had blown under the bike rack when I came in to work this morning at the university. Poor Niels, whoever he is. I was in his position once, so it sent chills down my spine. And is “Dad” sympathetic, or gloating?
Found while walking to lunch, but didn’t pick it up until my way back to work. My co-worker said that he had seen it on his way in that morning – and stepped on it. It was on the sidewalk in front of a building being renovated. I have no idea where the sale was.
I found this on the hallway floor of my high school last year. The critique was written on the back of an admission slip. I thought it was really amusing how enthusiastic the teacher was in everything he/she wrote and at the end he/she has this sympathetic disclaimer to the presentation.
