    I’m gonna guess “hospital” refers to the Psych Unit where he was “interned” (Involuntary Commitment.) The metaphor? It seems the guy hasn’t figured out the difference between love and lust. If he allows the “Dowsing Rod” make the decision(s) he’s in for a lot of, ahhh…”interesting” experiences-not all of ‘em good either ;)
